Grass-fed vs. grain-fed beef, what’s the difference? In this fun and informative class you will not only learn about how grass-fed beef can benefit your health, but also how to prepare and cook an amazing, nutritious meal with beef raised right here on Mary’s Land Farm!
Innkeeper Julie Webb will show you how to properly prepare and season the beef and share tips on how to get the best outcome from different cuts. We will be marinating some of Mary’s Land Farm’s famous skirt steak to make fajitas! Julie will also share how to make a versatile chimichurri sauce and easy ways to swap out herbs depending on the season and what you have on hand. We’ll compliment the dish with a fresh veggie rainbow salsa. This is a hands-on class so you’ll get to jump in and participate in making homemade tortillas with Einkorn flour, the oldest variety of wheat on earth and the original ancient grain.
Jaime Brooke, our Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, will lead a discussion on the differences between grass-fed and grain-fed beef as well as how to include quality ingredients in meal preparation. She’ll delve into the importance of beneficial fats and quality herbs and spices and give her best advice on how to build a nourishing plate with real wholesome foods!
