You asked for it and Julie is offering another cast iron class with new recipes. This class is both those who have taken Julie’s previous cast iron class and those who are new participants. Taught by Mary’s Land Farm Innkeeper, Julie Webb, participants will learn about the versatility of cooking in cast iron, how to properly season pans and also how to care for cast iron pans.
Julie grew up in an 1800’s farmhouse where her cast iron pans were handed down from generation to generation. Cast iron has always been her favorite pan for cooking rustic and delicious dishes! Julie will share the secrets to making any cast iron pan non-stick, learn general cooking tips and cast iron cooking techniques.
Together we will make scrumptious pork chops, from our woodland raised pigs, that will be prepared with apple and onions. You will learn how to make flaky buttermilk biscuits right in a cast iron pan! Lastly we will make a vegetable side dish in cast iron with the vegetables we currently are growing!
