Are you ready to take your health back into your own hands, but do not know how or where to start? This may be the class for you!
In the first portion of this foundational class, Certified Nutritional Therapy Practitioner Jaime Brooke will be sharing information about the importance of eating REAL, nourishing foods. Jaime teaches that there is no “one-size-fits-all” diet, BUT there are aspects of nutrition that are foundational to everyone. She will talk about how to build your meals in a way to support optimal health, key things to think about when choosing your foods and reading ingredients, and the importance of supporting local farms. You’ll also learn about Mary’s Land Farm, and some of the many things that make it such a special place:). Following her presentation in the sun room, we will all go into the kitchen for some hands-on food prep and cooking tips from innkeeper Julie Webb.
We will be preparing delicious and nutritious pan-seared steak from cows raised right here on Mary’s Land Farm, as well as a colorful salad with fresh greens, a roasted seasoned sweet potato medley, and a variety of nutritious toppings. We will be discussing a variety of ways to “set yourself up for success” in the kitchen, by having a variety of prepared REAL food options to choose from. Let’s get back to basics and nourish our bodies with wholesome foods! We will also be using our high quality Secolari olive oils and vinegars in our food prep, so be ready for knowledge bombs and lots of flavors! Hope to see you there.
